Brainstorming & Concentration.

BRAINSTORMING:

There is a very simple technique used by the business people, artists
and scientists to make use of the power of the day dreaming. Just as
photographs are developed in a dark room, you must develope your
dreams in a dark room.
Sit or lie down in a room that you have as dark and quiet as possible.

Let image gradually flood your mind. Darkness and silence are
particularly favourable for the growth of ideas and dreams because
they put you in direct contact with your subconscious mind, which is
essentially cut off from the outside world. It is important not to
censure your thoughts, even if they seem far-fetched. This technique
has been called 'brainstorming'. It can help you solve problems and
discover a plethora of ideas.

CONCENTRATION EXERCISE:

Draw a black dot about a quarter of an inch in diameter on a cardboard
sheet and stick it to the wall or put it on the floor in front of you.

Sit down comfortably, breathing easily, and stare at the dot, trying
not to blink. After a while, your eyes will begin to itch. Close your
eyes and open them again. Start over. Don't worry, this exercise will
not harm your eyes. On the contrary, it strengthens the optical nerve
and can even help some eye disorders.

Start by spending two or three minutes on this exercise, gradually
increasing the time. By the end of the first week, you should have
reached five minutes. When you have reached approximately 20 minutes,
your concentration will be excellent. To occupy your thoughts during
this exercise and to maximise its effects, why not repeat some of your
favourite auto-suggestion formulas?

You will discover a noticeable improvement in your power of
concentration even by the first day if you have spent a few minutes on
it. The result will speak for themselves. You will be able to
concentrate longer and better. Problems that appear complex to you
will seem simple. Your thoughts will speed up. You will easily do in
one hour what you normally did in three. And you will do it better,
more precisely and neatly. This exercise also enhances your memory,
the source of logical reasoning. Another consequence is more acute
presence of mind. This, in fact, is normal, since when you are
concentrating you are sharply aware of the moment passing and of the
situation in hand. The right answer, the one that always come to you
too late, will appear more naturally at the right moment. You will be
better able to seize opportunities instead of letting them slip by.

In addition this exercise also helps develop your sense of intuition.

This is especially useful in business.
Daily practice is recommended, especially every morning shortly after
waking up to 'warm up' the 'muscles' of your mind.

If concentration is the key to success and our level of concentration
relies on the pleasure we get from an activity, then in order to
succeed, we must do what we enjoy.
