10 Steps For Achieving Your Goals!

10 Steps to Achieve Goals

*1) Be specific about what you want to achieve*
Most people don't know what they want to with their life, and even after thinking hard, they often don't come with something they really want to do.
This is one of the main reasons that in spite of so many books on success,
most people live an average life, not achieving some major success.

*2) Draw up a plan of action*
Devote as much time as you need to find a goal or goals, even minor goals
are okay. Not everyone really desires great success and is willing to completely change his/her life. Not everyone desires to be a millionaire, or possesses the talent to make money.

After finding a goal that you really desire to achieve, draw up a plan or
even several plans, and be as practical as possible.

*3) Make a list of steps*
List the steps you need to take, such as signing up for a course, studying,
reading, developing the required skills, looking for a job, etc, and other
steps you need to implement that will take you closer to achieving your
goal.

*4) Act, do not be passive*
Take action and follow the steps on your list. Don't just wait for things to
happen.

*5) Read and listen to advice*
Read books or articles about what you want to achieve. Meet people who can help you and listen to their advice, but use your common sense and reason before accepting anything.

*6) Alternative plans*
If a certain plan doesn't work, look for an alternative one.

*7) Examine your goals periodically*
Some goals aren't worth achieving. Circumstances and people change. Some goals lose their importance. It is a good idea to re-examine your goals regularly and weed out the worthless ones.

*8) Repeat affirmations*
Affirm with faith and feelings that your goal has already been achieved. If you don't undo your affirmations with doubts and lack of belief, they will be accepted by your subconscious mind, which will then provide you with more desire and motivation.

*9) Visualize your goal*
Visualization will also affect your subconscious mind, which will keep you motivated, focused on your goal, and more aware of ideas and opportunities.

*10) Take action*
Don't just affirm and visualize and do nothing. Take any action required to bring your goal into fruition. Follow your intuition, new ideas and
opportunities that present themselves, and accept help from other people.

Making a Point

A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said: "Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together."

So the doctor said: 'Ok and what do you want me to do?'
She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.'
The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the
lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.'
She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.
Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care two
babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms.'

This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is.'

'There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.'

The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to
kill a child!'
'I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.'

The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point. He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb.

The crime is the same!

Some people think that abortion is the best way to get rid of unwanted pregnancy or child. But they never think that they're doing some kind of genocide. Killing of foetus is like killing of a live human being.
I remember, once Mother Teresa appealed to all mothers to give her their kids which they thought was wanted or not in a position to take care of them. Mother Teresa was against abortion.
According to Hindu scripture abortion or killing of the foetus is at par with great sin of committing "Brahmahatya"(killing of a Brahmin) or "Gohatya" (killing of cow).
It has other repercussions too. An unwanted baby, when grow up, instinctively knows that he was not wanted to be born. He become unruly, rogue and anti-social to disgrace his parents.
Its better to use birth control measures to avoid unwanted pregnancy but its not sensible to abort the baby.

Boredom Can Kill You

Boredom Can Kill You

Source: Daily Mail UK

Boredom could be shaving years off your life, scientists have found.

Researchers say that people who complain of boredom are more likely to die young, and that those who experienced 'high levels' of tedium are more than two-and-a-half times as likely to die from heart disease or stroke than those satisfied with their lot.

More than 7,000 civil servants were studied over 25 years - and those who said they were bored were nearly 40 per cent more likely to have died by the end of study than those who did not.

The scientists said this could be a result of those unhappy with their lives turning to such unhealthy habits as smoking or drinking, which would cut their life expectancy.

Specialists from the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at University College London, looked at data from 7,524 civil servants aged between 35 and 55 who were interviewed between 1985 and 1988 about their levels of boredom. They then found out whether they had died by April last year.

Researcher Martin Shipley, who co-wrote the report to be published in the International Journal of Epidemiology this week, said: 'The findings on heart disease show there was sufficient evidence to say there is a link with boredom.

'It is important that people who have dull jobs find outside interests to keep boredom at bay, rather than turn to drinking or smoking.'

Psychologist Graham Price added: 'It is important to distinguish between cause and effect. Are these people turning to drink and drugs because they are bored or because they have certain characteristics?

'For many people who are unmotivated or uninspired by life, or maybe have a tendency towards depression, the way out of it is to change their focus away from themselves and on to other people.

'From being all me, me, me, they should be thinking, what can I do for my family, my friends, my colleagues, even my boss.'

The original survey found that one in ten civil servants had been bored within the past month, with women more than twice as likely than men to suffer. Younger employees and those with more menial jobs were also found to be more prone to boredom.

Those who reported feeling a great deal of boredom were 37 per cent more likely to have died by the end of the study.

Meditation vs Medication: Your Path To Happiness!

Meditation vs. Medication: Your Path to Happiness?

By Laura Silva / Source: The Silva Method

As Silva students, we're fortunate enough to have tips and techniques that can naturally help us achieve happiness. This of course, include meditation, which is the key ingredient used in all of Silva Method's exercises.

Meditation helps us to relax our mind and body while giving us physical as well as inner peace. It heals stress, anxiety as well as depression.

We already know that engaging in activities that relieve you from stress, anxiety and depression, such as meditation, can reduce the negative energies in our system leading to happiness.

Unfortunately, there are still so many out there who have yet to experience its wondrous benefits.

So, in their quest to achieve happiness, they try various methods that may include medication, drugs and other adrenaline-rushing activities which just aren't healthy in the long run.

For this reason alone, I am very happy to see that meditation is being recognized more and more in the medical world for its natural and permanent benefits.

Here's an article written by Janis Whitlock (MPH, PhD), which talks about the increasing number of those addicted to unnatural methods in their quest to find happiness, but with less than positive results.

According to Janis, with the quest for happiness, as it is socially and culturally defined in most western nations, comes heightened risk for addictions of all sorts - particularly for youth.

The article elaborated on the science of addiction, which reveals that when someone struggles with substance abuse or process addictions present in our culture such as food, sex, gambling, self-harming behaviors, or even excessive Internet usage or workaholism, the pay-off is the same: increased levels of "feel good" chemicals.

All of these behaviors increase levels of "happiness" chemicals such as dopamine, serotonin, endogenous opiods, and norepinephrine - at least for a short while.

Meditation, meanwhile, provides the much sought-after positive and permanent qualities that so many are searching for:

Increased understanding of the neurology of contentment suggests that practices such as meditation and contemplation may hold the key to real and lasting happiness

Studies of long-term meditators by researchers such as Richard Davidson from the UW-Madison Laboratory for Affective Neuroscience show that meditation is linked to significant activity in the left prefrontal cortex - areas of the brain linked to positive emotion

Studies of the effect of meditation on mental health typically show meditation linked to significantly less trait anxiety and negative affect, enhanced levels of circulating antibodies and the high-frequency gamma waves associated with higher mental activity

Similarly, as reviewed in Stefan Klein's book, The Science of Happiness, long-term compassion-focused meditation has been linked to the most intense left-sided, happiness-related brain activity ever recorded

These studies have shown that the effects of meditation are believed to be permanent.

Having What You Want To Have

Having What You Want To Have

This is a story I've read somewhere else – I can't remember the source or who's the author. If you remember, please let me know so that I can credit him accordingly. The story below has been written in my style, thus, there are slight changes from the original story.

=========================================

A businessman went for a vacation in a very beautiful native island – to get away from the all of the city noise and the working stress he has.

Because he likes fishing, he got up in the morning and went to the famous fishing bay near the village to catch some fish. When he was there, he saw another man already sitting there to fish.

So he approached the villager and greeted him and introduced himself, "Hi, my name's Nelson. Can I join you?"

The man looked at him and smile… and welcomed him as a friend to join.

Nelson sat beside him.

Then Nelson saw plenty of fishes that the man had already caught.

"Well, you're really good at fishing!"

The man replied, "Yes, I like fishing… it's my hobby."

"So what do you do with the fishes that you caught? Do you sell them?" Nelson asked.

The man said, "I eat them with my family and the extra fishes are given to my neighbors in our village."

Nelson asked further, "What else do you do to past time?"

"Well, I spend a lot of time fishing, playing with my kids and drinking with friends."

"You know, with so many fishes you have caught, you can easily sell them in your market." Nelson suggested.

Nelson continues, "And when I was on my way here, I saw another village nearby your village and they have a market there too… you can easily take your fish there to sell there and make some money."

"Then when you make this extra cash, you could hire a few other villagers to help you fish in this bay. With that, you have more fishes to sell.

With this extra money, you can have your own shop to keep and sell the fish. As long as you can freeze the fish, you can sell them later on or even turn them into different kind of sea food!

Speaking of different kind of food, have you thought of owning your own fish factory? Produce all kinds of fish food."

Nelson paused for a while but still excited… and continues, "You know what you'll do after that? You start exporting fish food out of your village to other states! Those in other states will definitely pay a premium for your fresh seafood since they don't have that in where they live."

The man looked at Nelson and with a slight confusing expression.

"Mr. Nelson…

"Mr. Nelson, why do you think I want to do all of these?", the man ask innocently.

Nelson gladly answered to him with a cheerful smile, "Well, my friend, then you'll be able to be free and do what you always like to do like fishing, playing with your kids and spending time with your friends."

The man answered, "I'm already doing all of these."

Art and Science of Sexual Magic!

The Art and Science of Sexual Magic

By Damon Lycourinos / Source: New Dawn Magazine

Sex… a word with multiple meanings, manifestations and images that expresses the most fundamental instinct of the animal kingdom. For us mortals sexuality is the expression of how we experience ourselves as sexual beings biologically, physically, emotionally and so on.

The implication of this word, so popular it is the most searched for on the internet, can cover nearly all aspects of the human condition, embracing cultural, political, philosophical and spiritual issues. Regarding human sexuality, Leonardo Boccadoro and Sabina Carulli state:

Human sexuality is not simply imposed by instinct or stereotypical conducts, as it happens in animals, but it is influenced both by superior mental activity and by social, cultural, educational and normative characteristics of those places where the subjects grow up and their personality develops. Consequently, the analysis of sexual sphere must be based on the convergence of several lines of development such as affectivity, emotions and relations.

However, apart from being the source of life, it can also mutate into a harbinger of demise for some. An endless tale of pleasure and obsession, evoking sublime beauty that can so easily become one's worst nightmare. Some of the greatest achievements of humankind have been inspired by this primordial urge and sensation. It has dictated the course of history, both materially and immaterially. A wonder of human existence that has yet to be fully unravelled.

For many it is the vehicle of procreation, whereas for others merely a source of pleasure. Some have been inspired by it to pursue and develop spiritual paths and exercises endeavouring to transcend themselves and to partake in the 'other'. Its power has also been used as the most dreadful weapon to destroy, humiliate and enslave. Despite these differences and many more, our relation to it is the one uniting feature of humanity that we all accept and recognise. Even the absence of it is a reaffirmation of its existence.

What is peculiar to modern societies is not that they consigned sex to a shadow existence, but that they dedicated themselves to speaking of it ad infinitum, while exploring it as the secret.

Although it is evident from recovered art and artefacts, human achievements and monuments, that sex has always been a central feature of our existence in all its dimensions, never has it occupied such a powerful, ambiguous and obsessive presence as it does in our day and age. Wherever one turns, one is confronted by it, seduced, aroused and terrorised by it. Never has it been so available but also distant, like a spectre flirting with us elusively.

It is no wonder that sexuality has become intertwined with another fascinating, exciting and terrifying feature of human existence that has yet to be understood and fully accepted – magic. Two labyrinths of darklight becoming one…

A Short History of Sex Magic

Sexuality and the occult arts have long been in a state of unholy and tempting matrimony in Western imagination. Since at least the days of the alleged Gnostic heretical acts of worship, the continuing persecution of the Templars and the Cathars and the witch frenzy of the Middle Ages, it is evident that illicit sexual behaviour has easily, but not always objectively, been linked to acts of magic, or what the accusers believed to be acts of magic.

Beyond the realm of ecclesiastical condemnations and mislead evocations of an ungodly pagan past, sexuality has flourished within schools of Western esotericism. From the Jewish mystical Kabala to the Renaissance magic of Marsilio Ficino and Giordano Bruno, and the sexual mysticism of Emanuel Swedenborg during the era of the Enlightenment. All of these embraced in their own individual way the concept of the physical union of male and female sexuality as being an earthly reflection of the conjoining of the active and passive aspects of the Divine. But it was not until the middle of the 19th century that the relationship between esoteric beliefs and sexuality actually manifested into a series of practices, detailed attitudes, and a specific magical category of its own.

Hugh B. Urban, in his exceptional book Magia Sexualis – Sex, Magic and Liberation in Western Esotericism, clearly identifies the superficiality and ignorant approach contemporary Westerners have towards sexual magic:

Judging by the titles in most popular bookstores or the rapidly proliferating Web sites dotting the cyber space, sexual magic is understood fairly in simple terms by most American readers: it is most commonly defined as the 'art of extended orgasm', or 'peak experience in sexual loving'. According to Margo Anand, a widely read New Age author, "sexual energy can be refined and expanded, transporting you to realms of orgasmic delight that offer an endless variety of exquisite experiences. This is a type of magic."

The question remains: why did sex magic flourish in the middle to the late 19th century and continues up until this day?

Despite many attempts on behalf of 'authorities' who endeavour to present sex magic as being the purest expression of an ancient heritage of Western esotericism and a well-kept occult secret that has reached us from the dawn of ages, this magical practice – like many of those who advocate it – is not a rejection of secular modernity but rather an affirmation of many of the ideals of modernity. These ideals are reflections of ideas such as progress, the affirmation of the individual as being an ultimate force in the universe, the recognition of the multidimensional and powerful reality of sex, a scientific endeavour to unravel the secrets of the universe and the overwhelming potential of free will as a form of liberation from suppressive institutions. This also coincides with the endeavour to re-enchant a demystified and secularised modern industrial world through the occult.

I am not implying that sex magic is a product of fantastical renderings superficially relating to a glorified past of arcane knowledge and constant sacred communion with the Divine. Indeed, contemporary occultism has been effectively inspired by esoteric traditions of the past, reaffirmed, rediscovered and reinterpreted in this day and age, and has to be admired for its courage to seek out means to adapt esotericism to a disenchanted world of secular thought and scientific cynicism.

Neither am I proclaiming that sex magic is merely a mask for movements of social change, implying that all ideas and practices revolving around sexual magical applications are romantic decorations of new radical movements that aspire only to cultural liberation and social transformation.

It is my belief that for sex magicians, their sacred art and science is one fully preoccupied with a search for esoteric truths through their personal relationship with the Absolute and the magical universe they inhabit. It might be a combination of effects, both socio-cultural and supranatural, which manifested sex magic into what it is in contemporary occultism.

The second question that remains is why so much attention has been drawn towards sex magic. According to occultists, sex magic transcends the principles of hedonism and in its unveiled essence is a powerful manifestation of magic aligned with cosmic forces and correspondences. The rationale behind this is that if non-spiritual sex can create new life, the intentional ritualised form of sexual intercourse can give birth to the greatest supernatural effects and results. As Aleister Crowley stated, "the root idea is that any form of procreation other than normal is likely to produce results of a magical character."

The Magical Eroticism of Paschal Beverly Randolph

The most important figure in the rise of modern sexual magic was arguably the fascinating yet generally neglected figure of Paschal Beverly Randolph. Born in 1825 to a wealthy Virginian father and a slave from Madagascar, Randolph was a poor, self-educated free black raised in the poorer parts of New York. He was orphaned at a young age and ran away from his foster parents to explore a vast range of new spiritual traditions and to travel the world.

Through his journeys in Egypt and the Middle East, he claims to have been initiated by various seers and holy men, including Egyptian mages and Indian Brahmins. Upon his return to the United States he became involved with various Spiritualist movements and was involved in political movements championing the cause and future of African Americans. These ideas of liberation would become a major theme in his spiritual writings and understanding of sex magic, especially in regards to gender equality.

He also founded a new religious order, which he labelled the Brotherhood of Eulis. Although he had been influenced by European Rosicrucian orders, he claimed his order would surpass them and that the core of their spiritual teachings had a sexual magical element. Unfortunately, Randolph's life ended after a series of tragic events. An accident left him invalid, and this led him to excessive amounts of intoxication. Suspicious that his wife had betrayed him, he committed suicide in 1875.

Randolph's work on sexual magic took place during the era of Victorian America, where the tremendous power of sexuality was slowly being recognised scientifically and socially, where it was praised within the confines of marriage and condemned outside of it. It was also an era of radical social movements and the foundation of various new religious movements, especially the Spiritualist movement, all of which were concerned with the spiritual side of sexuality but not all in the same fashion.

Randolph's main contribution to Western occultism concerns sex. Apart from being an expert in the cure of sexual diseases and dysfunctions, he developed a system and practice of sexual magic that, as he claimed, could achieve all manners of marvels, both worldly and otherworldly. He saw his system of sexual magic as a path to a millennial new world.

Randolph's teachings would later on inspire and influence a host of new magical orders, such as the Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor and the Ordo Templis Orientis, and even various forms of sex magic now available in nearly every mainstream bookstore.

Randolph's system of sexual magic has been described by Hugh B. Urban as "a system of magical eroticism, or affectional alchemy." As Randolph continuously stresses:

LOVE LIETH AT THE FOUNDATION… and Love is convertibly passion, enthusiasm affection heat, fire, SOUL, God… The nuptive moment, the instant wherein the germs of a possible new being are lodged… is the most solemn, serious, powerful and energetic moment he can ever know on earth.

Randolph believed that the sexual drive is the most potent and fundamental force in the universe, due to its natural attraction between the active/positive and the passive/negative. Following Franz Anton Mesmer's pattern of thought, Randolph understood the male and female as opposite yet complimentary electromagnetic forces, with the male genitals being the positive and the female the negative. Because sexual attraction is the most potent and fundamental force in nature, the experience of orgasm is a very primordial, powerful and critical moment in human consciousness. It is the key to magical power. At the moment of climax the soul is exposed to the energies of the universe and new life pours from the spiritual into the material realm. At this point anything that is truly willed can happen.

The moment when a man discharges his seed – his essential self – into a womb is the most solemn, energetic and powerful moment he can ever know on earth; if under the influence of mere lust it be done, the discharge is suicidal… At the moment his seminal glands open, his nostrils expand, and while the seed is going from his soul to her womb he breathes one of two atmospheres, either fetid damnation from the border spaces or Divine Energy from heavens. Whatsoever he shall truly will and internally pray for when Love… is in the ascendant, that moment the prayer's response comes down.

A unique feature of his sexual techniques, apart from the employment and magical use of the orgasm as a means of acquiring otherworldly sympathies, was his emphasis on the mutuality and equality of male and female in their loving union. All forms of sexual abuse within the Victorian framework, whether through masturbation or excessive intercourse, drained the body of the vital energy required for the undertaking of a sexual magical operation.

Although he was accused by many as promoting promiscuity and sexual license under the guise of his sexual magical teachings, Randolph was indeed a very conservative character. His practice of sexual magic is anything but mere hedonistic license. Sex, for Randolph, is strictly for married couples in a state of pure love.

Free-love, disguise it as you may, means sensual license, no more, no less; and wherever its doctrine prevail there will you find either a worn-out debauchee, a freedom-shrieking woman of faded charms,… or brainly men, actually heartless unemotive, spasmodically lecherous.

Although for many in 19th century Victorian America Randolph might appear to be a radical spiritual antinomian threatening the moral and spiritual foundation of society, his teachings on spiritualised love and sexual magic reflect and embody many of the basic sexual values of his day, both physically and spiritually. His system is unlike the sexual techniques developed by many magicians who were inspired by him. His teachings could be no further than the sex 'magick' of the notorious Aleister Crowley.

Sex Magick and the Great Beast

When one conjures up images and sensations of sexual magic, one generally stumbles upon Aleister Crowley before anyone else. Known in the press of his day as "the wickedest man in the world" and self-proclaimed "Great Beast 666," Crowley was the object of much scandal and moral outrage. Rejecting the prudence of Victorian society, Crowley saw sex magic as a supreme source of magical power. Unlike Randolph, Crowley did not advocate sexual magic as being confined to a state of holy matrimony, and instead made use of 'outraging' sexual acts, such as masturbation and homosexual intercourse, which shocked and horrified British society.

However, despite being the sexual hedonistic deviant and the spawn of Satan as presented by the popular press of the early 20th century, Crowley's importance and influence on Western occultism should not be overlooked. His rejection of Victorian morality and his identification of sex as being the supreme magical source introduced new dimensions to the study and practice of the occult. His study of Buddhism and Hinduism transmitted new ideas and techniques that affected the Western Esoteric Tradition in a tremendous way. These and many more have made him one of the most influential figures in the revival of magical traditions.

Born Edward Alexander Crowley in 1875, he was the son of a highly zealous and prudent father who was very well-established in the excessively puritanical Plymouth Brethren. He was raised in a strict Christian home in late Victorian England. Crowley, apart from turning to the occult and sexual excess, was also a prolific poet and an avid mountain climber.

Despite all excesses and taking delight in the accusations hurled at him, he was according to one of his biographers, Lawrence Sutin, an enigmatic, gifted and misunderstood character, and "one of the rare human beings… to dare to prophesy a distinctive new creed and to devote himself… to the promulgation of that creed." He studied at the University of Cambridge and inherited a lot of money, which he spent travelling the world, publishing his works and wasting on excess.

He was first initiated into the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, but his relationship with the Order and one of its founding members, MacGregor Mathers, ended in turmoil and controversy. From 1899 onwards, he began travelling to places such as India and Ceylon where he studied Hinduism, Buddhism and Yoga, and was exposed to Tantra. Although he only approached it from the naive and highly ethnocentric angle of the Orientalists of his day and age, it fuelled an interest in combining his version of magic, which he labelled magick, with sexual techniques.

In 1904 Crowley received a revelation from an entity called Aiwass, which Crowley claimed was his guardian angel. Aiwass appeared and dictated to him the Liber AL vel Legis (The Book of the Law), which claimed that Crowley was to be the herald of the third aeon of humankind – the Aeon of Horus. The infamy of him being a black magician and "the wickedest man in the world" was spawned in the period of the 1920s when he founded the Abbey of Thelema at a farmhouse in Cefalu, Sicily. The rule of this community was 'do what thou wilt' and in Urban's words,

Crowley took Rabelais' ideal a good deal further, however, by creating a utopian community in which every desire could be gratified and every impulse expressed, through free experimentation in drugs, sex and physical excess.

By the 1940s Crowley had exhausted all his money, which he had largely spent by 1915, and his will to power. Although he continued to believe The Book of the Law might have a decisive role to play in the era to come, he spent his last years in a small guest house in London increasingly addicted to heroin until his death in 1947.

In his autobiographical account, Confessions, he wrote:

The battle will rage most fiercely around the question of sex… Mankind must learn that the sexual instinct is… ennobling. The shocking evils which we all deplore are principally due to the perversions produced by suppressions. The feeling that it is shameful and the sense of sin cause concealment, which is ignoble, and internal conflict which creates distortion, neurosis, and ends in explosion. We deliberately produce an abscess and wonder why it is full of pus… why it bursts in stench and corruption. The Book of the Law solves the sexual problem completely. Each individual has an absolute right to satisfy his sexual instinct as is physiologically proper for him.

Crowley continued the tradition of sex magic as set out by Randolph, the Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor and the Ordo Templis Orientis, although he adapted to his own magical system. In 1910 Crowley became involved with the OTO and soon was declared the Sovereign Grand Master General of Ireland, Ioana and all the Britains.

Although the OTO were practicing sex magic before Crowley's reception into the order, he had already revealed the secret of sexual magic in his Book of Lies. According to Crowley, the secret of sex magic is so tremendously powerful that "if this secret which is a scientific secret were perfectly understood… there would be nothing which the human imagination can conceive that not be realised in practice… If it were desired to have an element of atomic weight six times that of uranium that element could be produced."9

Crowley's own diary, Rex de Arte Regia, listed a series of 309 sexual magical acts for purposes both worldly and otherworldly. Also, Crowley wrote a series of rites for the OTO, with the highly dramatic ceremony of the Gnostic Mass being the most popular and central to his mystical system of Thelema within the OTO. He also revised the OTO's initiatory degrees with the eighth degree consisting of an autoerotic sex rite, the ninth a heterosexual one and the eleventh, which he introduced, a homosexual sex rite. Peter Koenig summarises this:

Crowley's VIIIth degree unveiled… that masturbating on a sigil of a demon or meditating upon the image of a phallus would bring power or communication with the divine being… The IXth degree was labelled heterosexual intercourse where the sexual secretions were sucked out of the vagina and when not consumed… put on a sigil to attract this or that demon to fulfil the pertinent wish… In the XIth degree, the mostly homosexual degree, one identifies oneself with an ejaculating penis. The blood (or excrements) from anal intercourse attract the spirits/demons while the sperm keeps them alive.

It is now recognised that Crowley did have some very good knowledge of Indian Yoga and was aware of some of the key features and practices of Indian Tantra. Unlike most Orientalist scholars, he did not denounce Tantra, but instead described it as a valid form of religion and the most advanced form of Hinduism. In his works he frequently used the terms lingam and yoni, the male and female sexual organs, and he compared the IXth degree rite of the OTO with the Tantric view of semen and the rite of maithuna. However, as N. N. Bhattacharyya has argued, most Western authors and magicians, Crowley included, misinterpret and misrepresent Tantra as they only approach it in terms of its sexual elements. The difference lies in the fact that Western magical systems have placed emphasis on the act of sex from the beginning whereas in traditional Hindu Tantra sexual union is a minor part of the spiritual practices, and when it does take place it is merely only one method of awakening Shakti. Even one of Crowley's most devoted students, Kenneth Grant, admitted that Crowley's actual knowledge of Tantra was limited.

Crowley conceived the rational mind as an act of departing and an irregularity of the true human self. He believed he discovered with his system of sex magick a way of destroying the rational mind at the point of orgasm inducing a sense of natural trance and spiritual clarity not confined by the burden of the mundane and the rational. At this climaxing point the divine is allowed to enter into the magical consciousness of the magician. This can be compared, according to Crowley, to the transubstantiation of the elements of the Mass:

The sexual act… is the agent which dissipates the fog of self for one ecstatic moment. It is the instinctive feeling that the physical spasm is symbolic of that miracle of the Mass, by which the material wafer… is transmuted into the substance of the body.

In The Book of Lies Crowley states:

As man loses his personality in physical love, so does the magician annihilate his divine personality in that which is beyond. In love the individuality is slain… Love death therefore, and long eagerly for it. Love destroyeth self… Love breedeth All and None in One.

Beyond the use of sex magic to acquire worldly things, Crowley believed that the purpose of sex magic was destined for achieving supreme spiritual power and the power to conceive a divine child and godlike being. Within this magical operation though, unlike Randolph, the woman, who Crowley regarded as being inferior and limited, was merely a passive vehicle for the male magician to use in his sexual magical rites.

The Bedchamber of Sex Magic

Modern sex magic has been associated with some very enigmatic, remarkable and sometimes radical personalities. Randolph and Crowley have been the ones most associated with the current of sexual magic and have influenced generations of magicians with their pioneering visions. What Randolph and Crowley came to represent in the popular imagination is an outcry for liberation from the suffocating pressures of the Victorians. This is evident from Randolph's system of sex magic as being a path to the dawn of a new era where the inequalities of Victorian America will not exist and the innermost secrets of human life will surface. Although at first glance Crowley's vision appears to not share some of these desires and hopes, upon further scrutiny it is apparent that Crowley too was a remarkable reflection of his era, and he was indeed struggling against what he conceived as being hypocritical and fallacious. According to John Symonds:

Crowley was a contemporary of Freud; he grew out of the matrix of Victorianism… He was one of many who helped to tear down the false, hypocritical, self-righteous attitudes of the time. What is peculiar in Crowley's case is not that he chose evil but that in his revolt against his parents and God he set himself up in God's place.

These two sex magicians have come to stand as explorers of the ambivalence of the tension between romantic and sexual love, the place of non-reproductive sexual acts, the experimentation and importation of exotic sexual techniques from the 'Orient' and so on. They have come to reflect many of the themes and paradoxes of modernity, such as striving for individualism, a utopian future, the exploration of the meaning of sexuality and the essence of ourselves.

I have already stated in my introduction why Aleister Crowley conceived the art and science of sex magic to be one of the most powerful occult systems. Many esotericists have expressed the view that the human mind is the gateway of magic through which the magician gains access to the astral plane and through which the magical universe works. The basic structure of the psyche for some magicians consists of the conscious mind, also known as the waking consciousness, and the subconscious, also known as the unconscious, the realm of our being experienced in dreams and altered states of consciousness. There is also a kind of 'censor' that separates these two parts of the psyche and acts as a filter ensuring the selective gathering of empirical perception, and also the protection of the conscious mind from an uncontrolled flooding from the subconscious. Magic makes use of both the 'rational' and the 'irrational' parts of the psyche.

The key element in every magical operation is introducing this understanding of the psyche to the magical formula of combining will and imagination, which in turn affects the psyche. The aim of every magical rite is to temporarily 'shut down' this censor so the unconscious mind might gain immediate access to the conscious, sending forth its raw power and in turn this raw power being directed and assigned to various magical tasks. The key result is what can be referred to as a 'magical trance', the very peak of a ritual ecstasy where the cosmic forces are invoked and manifested. For sex magicians the best way to achieve this altered state of consciousness, this magical trance, this death-like feeling of emptiness where the magician becomes the vessel for magical forces, is the orgasm.

Beyond the social analysis, the psychological enquiry and the historical investigation, the true inspiration for these two magicians and others to come was the search for an ultimate magical system based on occult correspondences and a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of the Self. A way of communing with the magical universe and the pure whirling forces that inhabit it. Their efforts were more than just an outcry for liberation. More than just a struggle against oppressive taboos. For them it was a magical attempt to enchant a disenchanted world. A path that could lead them into a state of union with the divine. A method for them to acquire supreme spiritual powers that could affect both the natural and the supranatural. It was an expression of their Will and Imagination

The Future Too Good To Be True?

The Future too Good To Be True?
By John Tierney
Source: New York Times

Before we get to Ray Kurzweil's plan for upgrading the "suboptimal software" in your brain, let me pass on some of the cheery news he brought to the World Science Festival last week in New York.

Do you have trouble sticking to a diet? Have patience. Within 10 years, Dr. Kurzweil explained, there will be a drug that lets you eat whatever you want without gaining weight.

Worried about greenhouse gas emissions? Have faith. Solar power may look terribly uneconomical at the moment, but with the exponential progress being made in nanoengineering, Dr. Kurzweil calculates that it'll be cost-competitive with fossil fuels in just five years, and that within 20 years all our energy will come from clean sources.

Are you depressed by the prospect of dying? Well, if you can hang on another 15 years, your life expectancy will keep rising every year faster than you're aging. And then, before the century is even half over, you can be around for the Singularity, that revolutionary transition when humans and/or machines start evolving into immortal beings with ever-improving software.

At least that's Dr. Kurzweil's calculation. It may sound too good to be true, but even his critics acknowledge he's not your ordinary sci-fi fantasist. He is a futurist with a track record and enough credibility for the National Academy of Engineering to publish his sunny forecast for solar energy.

He makes his predictions using what he calls the Law of Accelerating Returns, a concept he illustrated at the festival with a history of his own inventions for the blind. In 1976, when he pioneered a device that could scan books and read them aloud, it was the size of a washing machine.

Two decades ago he predicted that "early in the 21st century" blind people would be able to read anything anywhere using a handheld device. In 2002 he narrowed the arrival date to 2008. On Thursday night at the festival, he pulled out a new gadget the size of a cellphone, and when he pointed it at the brochure for the science festival, it had no trouble reading the text aloud.

This invention, Dr. Kurzweil said, was no harder to anticipate than some of the predictions he made in the late 1980s, like the explosive growth of the Internet in the 1990s and a computer chess champion by 1998. (He was off by a year — Deep Blue's chess victory came in 1997.)

"Certain aspects of technology follow amazingly predictable trajectories," he said, and showed a graph of computing power starting with the first electromechanical machines more than a century ago. At first the machines' power doubled every three years; then in midcentury the doubling came every two years (the rate that inspired Moore's Law); now it takes only about a year.

Dr. Kurzweil has other graphs showing a century of exponential growth in the number of patents issued, the spread of telephones, the money spent on education. One graph of technological changes goes back millions of years, starting with stone tools and accelerating through the development of agriculture, writing, the Industrial Revolution and computers.

Now, he sees biology, medicine, energy and other fields being revolutionized by information technology. His graphs already show the beginning of exponential progress in nanotechnology, in the ease of gene sequencing, in the resolution of brain scans. With these new tools, he says, by the 2020s we'll be adding computers to our brains and building machines as smart as ourselves.

This serene confidence is not shared by neuroscientists like Vilayanur S. Ramachandran, who discussed future brains with Dr. Kurzweil at the festival. It might be possible to create a thinking, empathetic machine, Dr. Ramachandran said, but it might prove too difficult to reverse-engineer the brain's circuitry because it evolved so haphazardly.

"My colleague Francis Crick used to say that God is a hacker, not an engineer," Dr. Ramachandran said. "You can do reverse engineering, but you can't do reverse hacking."

Dr. Kurzweil's predictions come under intense scrutiny in the engineering magazine IEEE Spectrum, which devotes its current issue to the Singularity. Some of the experts writing in the issue endorse Dr. Kurzweil's belief that conscious, intelligent beings can be created, but most think it will take more than a few decades.

He is accustomed to this sort of pessimism and readily acknowledges how complicated the brain is. But if experts in neurology and artificial intelligence (or solar energy or medicine) don't buy his optimistic predictions, he says, that's because exponential upward curves are so deceptively gradual at first.

"Scientists imagine they'll keep working at the present pace," he told me after his speech. "They make linear extrapolations from the past. When it took years to sequence the first 1 percent of the human genome, they worried they'd never finish, but they were right on schedule for an exponential curve. If you reach 1 percent and keep doubling your growth every year, you'll hit 100 percent in just seven years."

Dr. Kurzweil is so confident in these curves that he has made a $10,000 bet with Mitch Kapor, the creator of Lotus software. By 2029, Dr. Kurzweil wagers, a computer will pass the Turing Test by carrying on a conversation that is indistinguishable from a human's.

I'm not as confident those graphs are going to hold up for fields besides computer science, so I'd be leery of betting on a date. But if I had to take sides in the 2029 wager, I'd put my money on Dr. Kurzweil. He could be right once again about a revolution coming sooner than expected. And I'd hate to bet against the chance to be around for this one.

What God looks like in your brain: Scans show more activity when religious people meditate

Source: Daily Mail

These images show what happens to the brain when religious people think about God.

Scientist Dr. Andrew Newberg conducted brain scans on people during prayer, meditation and other religious, rituals, and various trance states.

He is a proponent of a controversial field of science known as neurotheology, which tries to study the relationship between the brain and religion.

As part of his research, Newberg studied the brain activity of experienced Tibetan Buddhists before and during meditation.

The effect of meditation in Tibetan Buddhist monk on the brain. The frontal lobes show considerably more activity than when the brain is at rest.

Newberg found an increase of activity in the meditators' frontal lobe, responsible for focusing attention and concentration, during meditation. He attributes the change to the effects of their religious experience.

However it is just as likely that the scans are another example of what happens when people meditate, rather than any religious link.

Neurotheology has come under fierce attack from other academics in the past who say it is not rigorous enough in its studies and that theology and science should not be linked in this way.

It is not the first time that brain activity and meditation have been studied.

Last month a study from the University of Oregon found that people who meditate can strengthen their brain. Meditation novices took part in brain-training meditation sessions for half an hour on weekdays for a month.

Another group received the same amount of tuition - 11 hours - in basic relaxation techniques.

Brain scans revealed the brain connections of those in the meditation group - but not the other group - started to strengthen after six hours' practice. Differences were clear after 11 hours.

These 'structural changes' were greatest in the fibres connecting the anterior cingulate, the part of the brain which helps regulate emotions and behaviour.

Newberg said: '[We] evaluate what's happening in people's brains when they are in a deep spiritual practice like meditation or prayer.

'This has really given us a remarkable window into what it means for people to be religious or spiritual or to do these kinds of practices.'

New berg told NPR: 'For those individuals who want to go down the path of arguing that all of our religious and spiritual experiences are nothing more than biological phenomena, some of this data does support that kind of a conclusion.

'But the data also does not specifically eliminate the notion that there is a religious or spiritual or divine presence in the world.'

Lose Weight Easily with Hypnosis!

Lose Weight Easily with Hypnosis

By Steve G. Jones, Clinical Hypnotherapist
Creator of HypnoTranquility

Have you been trying exercise to lose weight? How is it going? Are you having the success you've hoped for? If not, maybe you'd benefit from adding hypnosis to your weight loss routine? If you are a little (or a lot) over weight, you might want to know more about hypnosis.

Hypnosis and exercise make a great weight-loss duo. Hypnosis helps people with a lot of things, including weight loss. In fact, not only can you use hypnosis to lose weight by cutting your food cravings and increasing you desire for healthy foods, you can also increase your motivation and even improve your attitude about regular exercise!

In other words, hypnosis can move you toward actually having fun as you shed the pounds.

We know there are plenty of benefits from regular exercise. Physical activity has been proven to reduce or even prevent the risk of things like high blood pressure, Type II diabetes, osteoporosis, high cholesterol and even depression. So why aren't more people exercising to lose weight and maintain good health?

As it turns out, one of the most common problems people have when it comes to exercise is building the will-power and motivation to make it a regular part of their lives. Hypnosis helps combat this tendency to procrastinate and lose motivation. In fact, hypnosis, has been shown to help people increase motivation by changing their attitude toward exercise. In this way, when you combine hypnosis with exercise and good dietary habits, you can super-charge you ability to slim your waist and improve your health.

In today's world, thanks to busy lifestyles, long work commutes (and longer working hours) and the temptation of so much fatty food, the majority of Americans are now overweight, with a growing epidemic of obesity. In fact, an unbelievable two out of every three Americans is either overweight or obese. There are at least 15 major diseases directly linked to obesity including stroke, certain types of cancer and diabetes. Yet despite the abundance of healthy food choices and the mushrooming of fitness centers across the nation and the world, people struggle to lose those pounds.

Maybe the answer is that they need to retrain their minds to focus differently, and that's exactly where hypnosis comes in. Using hypnosis to lose weight is non-invasive, gentle and doesn't require multiple sessions to succeed. Using hypnosis as a tool to motivate you and inspire regular exercise has a proven track record, and, along with neuro-linguistic programing (NLP) techniques have been shown to improve exercise behavior and motivation.

A recent study showed that behavioral strategies worked best in initiating a change in a person's lifestyle. Behavior strategies include goal setting and self-monitoring.

To incorporate physical activity into one's life, behavioral changes require persistence and motivation. Behavior interventions were shown to increase participants physical activity by an average of 48 minutes per week. This is significant because 48 minutes can provide a multitude of health benefits. Many people feel overwhelmed about starting an exercise program, but with behavioral changes and incorporating hypnosis to increase motivation, exercise is an easier task.

Top 10 Bad Things That Are Good For You

Top 10 Bad Things That Are Good For You

Source: Live Science

Beer quells heart disease and chocolate staves off cancer? Though often tagged with a disclaimer, studies that tell us to eat, inhale and generally indulge in "bad stuff" is music to our ears. So go ahead and enjoy these bad-for-you remedies — everything in moderation, as they say — until the next study inevitably overturns the research.

BEER: The newest bad kid on the block, beer has long been overshadowed by its healthier alcoholic cousins. While no one's suggesting you switch that glass of antioxidant-rich Pinot Noir for a tall glass of lager—there's still that beer gut to worry about—new research has suggested that moderate beer intake can actually improve cardiovascular function. Now if only a scientist will discover the health benefits of ballpark franks and chicken wings. Heaven.

ANGER: If you're one of those people who tends to bottle things up, only to explode ... don't hold it in so long. Studies show that bursts of anger here and there are good for the health, and can be an even more effective coping mechanism than becoming afraid, irritated or disgusted. Anger, like the consumables in this list, however, is best in moderation: stay angry for long periods of time and you'll be plagued with a host of health issues, like blood pressure, sleep disorders and lung damage.

COFFEE: Java is one of the most debated substances around. Is it good for you? Is it bad for you? Both? The consensus, now anyways, seems to favor those who enjoy their morning jolt—unrelated studies claim coffee is a major source of antioxidants in our diet and can help lower your risk of diabetes. Something in the beans is also thought to ease the onset of cirrhosis of the liver and pancreatitis, good news for those who like to party hard all night before their morning caffeine boost.

LSD: We're definitely not in the business of advocating drug use. But check out this interesting science: In heavy drinkers, small doses of LSD have been thought to help bypass the rock-bottom stage of alcoholism and prevent relapses. These studies—some decades old—were done in closely monitored, clinical settings; many patients haven't had a drink in the many years since. It's an interesting finding that needs a lot more investigation, and not a remedy that should ever be tried at home. Meantime—and this may come as no surprise—a recent study of 36 volunteers who took an LSD-like drug in a lab setting had them reporting mystical experiences and behavior changes that lasted for weeks.

SUNLIGHT: Exposure to the sun's rays is necessary to survive, but can also kill you in gross, cancerous quantities. Asthmatics, at least, could benefit from measured doses of ultraviolet rays, according to scientists. Sunlight suppressed the immune reactions that cause asthma in some lab studies with mice and could be used to treat humans afflicted with the disease in the future. And sunlight—even if indirect, such as on a shaded porch—is known to boost the mood. Extra sunlight can help office workers avoid afternoon drowsiness, a recent study found. There's still no excuse to head outside and bake, however.

MAGGOTS: They're creepy, slimy and altogether ooky, but maggots can save your life. These squirmy larvae are science's newest wonder-cure and were approved in 2003 as the Food & Drug Administration's only live medical device. Placed on serious wounds, maggots mimic their "wild" lifestyle and munch on bacteria and dead tissue, stimulating healing and helping to prevent infection.

MARIJUANA: It's medicinal, we swear! Marijuana, often associated with memory loss, is ironically now being hyped as a way to stave off the ultimate form of memory loss—Alzheimer's. Recent studies on mice suggest that anti-inflammatories found in the drug prevent the clumping of brain proteins, one major cause of the disease. So when should you start preventative therapy? We suggest waiting for the human studies to wrap up.

RED WINE: A crucial ingredient in the diets of the world's heart-healthiest populations—like those Bordeaux-guzzling French—red wine has long been known to have potent anti-cancer and artery-protecting benefits. The key, some studies indicate, is an antioxidant found specifically in the skin of red wine grapes, called resveratrol. The latest studies even link resveratrol to greater endurance, a reduction in gum disease and Alzheimer's. White wine, which is fermented after the skins are removed, is less beneficial according to some studies.

CHOCOLATE: Chocolate lovers rejoice: study after study lately has touted the magical benefits of the indulgent treat, which is packed with the antioxidant flavonols that prevent certain cancers and keep your arteries from clogging. The most recent news? These powerful chemicals may even increase blood flow to the brain, warding off dementia. Just stick to the highest cocoa content possible—the bars packed with sugar don't help your health one bit.

SEX: Scientists have found that the benefits of sex go beyond immediate, ahem, gratification and satisfying the goal of procreation. Besides the obvious evolutionary purposes, we can all take pleasure in the news that having sex is an easy way to reduce stress, lower cholesterol and improve circulation throughout the body. As if you needed another excuse.

Whatever you can imagine ALREADY exists!

To celebrate the end of the year, and to guarantee that 2011 is your absolute best year yet, this Secret Scrolls contains one of the life-changing revelations from the book The Power, and one of the most powerful processes you can do in your life.

Whether you realize it or not, you bring everything to you through
the power of your imagination. The power of imagination is not
something you have to acquire; you have it already! You think in images even if you aren't aware that you do, and you use imagination or imaging every single day of your life. When you think about the past you are imagining. When you think about the future you are imagining. And as you imagine and concentrate on anything with feeling, you are bringing it to you.

When you worry about something, you are using your immense power of imagination negatively. You are imagining the worst, and as you
imagine the worst, you are bringing it to you. When you are excited
about something, you are using your power of imagination positively. You are imagining the best, and as you imagine the best, you are bringing it to you.

Using the power of your imagination is something that comes to you
naturally, but I want you to understand something about your
imagination that will change your life: Whatever you can imagine
already exists! You simply can't imagine anything unless it exists
already, because when you imagine something you are actually tuning
into a particular frequency, and if that frequency didn't exist in the Universe you wouldn't be able to tune into it. So when you imagine yourself with something you want you are tuning into a real thing that already exists, and you are looking at the very frequency of you with your desire!

Now I am going to take you step by step through a revolutionary
process using your imagination from the book The Power.

First, imagine something that you really want. It could be money,
health, a particular job, a partner, a vacation, happiness, or anything else. Imagine yourself with your desire; close your eyes and really get the picture of yourself with your desire.

Pay special attention to what you see about yourself in your
imagined picture. Notice how you are talking. Notice how you are
moving. Notice how you are walking. Notice how you are acting.
Notice how you are feeling. Look at everything about yourself in your imagined picture, but in particular, notice how happy you are!
Capture every detail that you can, and open your eyes.

Understand that the picture you just imagined of yourself with your
desire exists already! You know it exists because if it didn't exist how could you tune into it? How could you see it in your imagination? When you imagined yourself, you were looking at the actual real version of you with your desire!

Can you see the difference between yourself right now and your
imagined picture of yourself? Because your job is to become as much like the version of yourself in the picture as you can! Walk like
that now. Talk like that now. Act like that now. Feel the same as that, now. Become as happy as that person, now. Be that person,
now! When you become the person in your imagined picture you have
shifted yourself to the frequency of your desire, and it must and will appear. Your imagination is showing you precisely the person you need to become. It is showing you what you look like and how to act and feel so that you can copy it and become that person!

To help you become more and more like the person in your imagination, practice closing your eyes and seeing yourself in the imagined picture with your desire as many times as you want. Seeing the imagined picture of yourself will continuously remind you how
you need to be, feel, and act. Then come out of your imagination
and go about your day doing your best to act and feel like that
person, now. You will be amazed at how little copying it takes before you see the evidence that your desire is coming.

This is one of the most powerful processes you can ever do to make
your desires appear with lightning speed. This process is based on
the physics of the Universe. Use it! Practice it! You have The Power to your life; every force in the Universe will do anything for you, but you have to use The Power that you have!

Happy Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year, and may joy
be with you in every moment,

Clarify Your Values

Clarify Your Values
By: Brian Tracy

Decide What You Stand For
What are your values? What do you stand for? What are the organizing
principles of your life? What are your core beliefs? What virtues do you
aspire to, and hold in high regard when you see them demonstrated by others? What will you not stand for? What would you sacrifice for,
suffer for, and even die for? These are extremely important questions
that are only asked by about three percent of the population, and that
small minority tends to be the movers and shakers in every society.

Write Out Your Key Values
When I first began this values clarification exercise some years ago, I wrote out a list of 163 qualities that I aspired to. I think I
eventually came up with every virtue, value or positive descriptive
adjective that referred to personality and character in the dictionary. And I agreed with all of them. I felt that they were all important and I wanted to incorporate every single one of them into my character.

Focus on Very Few Core Beliefs
But then reality sets in. I realized that it is very hard to learn even
one new quality, or to change even one thing about myself, let alone
dozens of things. So I scaled down my ambitions and began narrowing the values down to a small number that I could manage and work with. Once I had settled on about five core beliefs, I was then able to get to work on myself and start making some progress in character development.

Select Your Five Key Values
You should do the same. You should write down the five values that you
feel are the most important for you to live by. Once you have those five
values, you then organize them in order of priority. Which is the most
important value in your hierarchy of values? Which would be second?
Which would be third, and so on?

Learn To Make Better Decisions
Every choice or decision you make is based on your values. Whenever you
decide between alternatives, you invariably choose the alternative that you value the most. Because you can only do one thing at a time,
everything you do is a demonstration of what you consider to be the most important at that moment. Therefore, organizing your values in an order of priority is the starting point of personal strategic planning. It is only when you are clear about what you value, and in what order, that you are capable of planning and organizing the other activities of your life.

Action Exercises
Here are two things you can do immediately to put these ideas into
action:

First, clarify your core beliefs and your unifying principles. Write
them down and compare your life today with the values that are really
important to you. How are you doing?

Second, organize your values in order of their importance to you. Which of your values is most important? Which is second? And so on. Do your current choices reflect this order of values?

Stop Trying To Lose Weight

Stop Trying to Lose Weight

By Dr. Robert Anthony
Creator of The Zero Resistance Weight Release Solution

The first step is to Stop Trying to "Lose" Weight. Research clearly shows that over 95% of people who manage to "lose" weight will gain it all back, and most of them will end up weighing more than when they started.

What you really want is to permanently RELEASE your excess weight - not LOSE it. Think about it! When you lose something, what happens? You go looking for it.

If you "lost" your wallet or your purse you'd go looking for it, wouldn't you? As you will see, your Subconscious Mind is literal and it knows if you lose something you will consciously or unconsciously try to find it.

What you are about to learn is how to RELEASE the excess weight from your life, once and for all - so you never have to "lose" it again!

Sound good so far? Then read on...

Has This Ever Happened To You?

At some point you consciously make the decision – "I need to lose weight".

The next step is you find a book, diet, pill, shake or "program" that promises that you will lose the weight want. You read the book, take the pills, shake the shake or join a weight loss program.

After you "lose" some weight, for whatever reason, you decide the diet is over. Slowly but surely you begin to put the weight back on again. The "lost" pounds and inches return. Worse yet, you end up weighing more than you did before you started your diet.

If this has happened to you and you have FAILED at every weight loss program you have ever tried, there must be a reason.

In order to understand the reason, we need to talk about the concept of...

One Brain – Two Minds

Although we all have one brain, we possess two minds or two phases of mind power. One is called the Conscious mind and the other is called the Subconscious mind.

The primary difference between the Conscious and Subconscious is one gives directions and the other follows orders.

Between your Conscious and Subconscious there is a division called the "Critical Factor". The function of the Critical Factor is very simple. It's basically to keep things the same. Its primary intention is to make your life easier by rejecting or resisting information that doesn't match the blueprint you already have inside your Subconscious mind.

This can be tremendously useful when someone tries to persuade you to do something stupid like telling you that you can "Jump off a building and you'll fly!" But, it's also very harmful when it keeps you stuck with a belief or habit that is not desirable - such as being overweight.

Here's how it works...

Let's say you make a Conscious decision to lose weight. You start your weight loss program or diet. However, because your Subconscious blueprint is not in agreement with your Conscious decision to lose weight, it sets up RESISTANCE. Whenever you have RESISTANCE or a counter-intention between you Conscious and Subconscious mind, your Subconscious will resist your Conscious mind's instructions. In this case – to lose weight.

The ONLY way to get your Subconscious Mind to agree to release the weight permanently is you MUST bypass the Critical Factor of your Conscious Mind. This cannot be done through "willpower".

Understanding Your Subconscious Emotional Resistance Factor

Your Subconscious mind ultimately dictates exactly what you weigh...down to the ounce!

The reason for this is your Subconscious is a place where emotions are stored. Emotions are the fuel that drives us.

Your Subconscious is controlled by emotion, not logic.

Logically or consciously you may want to get rid of the excess weight, but on an emotional level your Subconscious is programmed to keep you fat. And even if you "lose" the weight, you will gain it back.

Here is what you need to know...

Over 95% of all weight problems are emotionally driven. What this means is your inability to control your weight has nothing to do with eating too much food, eating the wrong foods or not wanting to do any type exercise.

All of these are the effect, not the cause of your weight problem.

The Cause of Your Inability To Release That Excess Fat is Your SUBCONSCIOUS EMOTIONAL RESISTANCE FACTOR.

People are not fat because they overeat. They overeat because of something else, which is the basis of the Zero Resistance Weight Release Solution® - and it is the key to bringing you back to your ideal weight where you are slender and healthy and not carrying around any excess fat.

You may not be aware of it consciously, but at some emotional level you have made the association that food or being fat makes you feel safe, secure, loved, accepted, comfortable, protected, rewarded, or reduces stress and boredom.
In some way your current weight is emotionally driven.

THE GOOD NEWS is if you remove the emotional "cause", the physical "effect" will be effortless weight release once and for all.

The difference between the Zero Resistance Weight Release Solution® and every other program is the Zero Resistance Weight Release Solution® focuses on eliminating the RESISTANCE between your Conscious and Subconscious counter-intentions.

Releasing the excess weight is effortless when you get your Subconscious to agree with your Conscious desires.

In order to do this you have to eliminate the dysfunctional beliefs and counter-intentions that are getting in your way. You need to understand what triggers your Subconscious emotional FAT SWITCH and how to turn it off - forever.

If you get this right, the rest is so easy you won't believe it.

Unless you remove the EMOTIONAL RESISTANCE between your Conscious and Subconscious, no matter how hard you try to get rid of those excess pounds or kilos, you will gain them all back.

Once the EMOTIONAL RESISTANCE FACTOR has been released, your Subconscious will turn off the FAT SWITCH - Forever! This is really exciting because... once the FAT SWITCH is in the "Off" position...

...your Subconscious has no choice but to bring your body back to its ideal weight where you are naturally slender and healthy, because slender and healthy is your NATURAL state.

The Shocking Truth: It is not "Natural" To Be Fat

Now, please come closer, because this is important.

I know this may make you slightly uncomfortable, but your natural state is to have very little body fat – even as you grow older. How do we know this is true? Look back at the photographs of people from 20, 30, 40 or even 50 years ago and notice what you see. Are most of them fat? No! That's because they were living naturally. Their Subconscious FAT SWITCH was turned off.

Times have changed. Right now Americans are among the fattest people on earth. (And it is "spreading" all over the world!) Over 65% of the population is either overweight or obese. Our cars have gotten bigger. Airlines have to charge more for fuel because of the increased extra weight of passengers. Ambulance stretchers have to be made wider and reinforced. Even the average coffin is now being made larger to accommodate our overweight bodies when we die!

The New Generation "XL"

First we had the Baby Boomers, then we had Generation "X" and then Generation "Y".

Now we have Generation "XL" – as in Extra Large.

It is sad, but true – this generation is now referred to as the "Extra Large" generation because close to 30% of children and teens in the US are obese. Not overweight, but obese. Almost 42% are overweight. That's double the percentage of 1980.

We are being socialized and hypnotized that being overweight is "okay" or "normal" and that it is "abnormal" not to be carrying around some extra weight.

The media and marketing companies are doing their best to "normalize" this condition. Clothing companies make larger and larger size cloths. Fast food restaurants are offering "supersized" meals. Now they even have "plus size" models. I am sure we all agree that that "super skinny" models are not normal, but trying to convince us that "plus size" (read overweight) models are normal is another dangerous trend.

If we keep normalizing overweight and accepting it as a way of life, soon 90% of the population will be fat and the hospitals will be filled with fat, sick people with heart attacks and diabetes. No matter how we try to normalize it, it is not NATURAL to be overweight! Period!

Like It or Not - You Are Judged By Your Weight

Here is another reality check. There is a world of research that clearly indicates you will be judged personally and professionally by how much you weigh. Your first impression is recorded and used as a yardstick for all future communication by those whom you meet.

It isn't fair, but it's true, people who are overweight communicate that they don't care about themselves, they are lazy and not in control of their life.

On the other hand, regardless of how fat the rest of the population becomes, people who are not overweight are given preferential treatment whether it comes to business or personal relationships.

15 Secret Abilities of Chi Power & ESP!

15 Secret Abilities of Chi Power & ESP (Extra Sensory Perception)

By A. Thomas Perhacs, Creator of Chi Power Training

When one thinks of Chi Power Training or Qigong, the concept of developing Extra Sensory Perception or ESP becomes a very real possibility. How does a physical exercise like Chi Power Training or Qigong relate to the development of Psychic abilities or ESP?

The one key factor that one must realize is that physical "Internal" training can have a direct result on mental capabilities as it relates to ESP.

The reason is that when you combine certain physical exercises with mental exercises, you create a way to tap into the inner resources of the Mind, Body connection.

Many have searched far and wide to learn these supposed secret abilities. These "secrets" are really returning the body back to the way it was when we were younger and had perception. As we get older, we come to dismiss the abilities we had as children.

The key to doing this is learning how to sensitize the body after it has been desensitized after all the years of growing older and allowing your mind and body to conform to what is "normal" and or "abnormal".

The only "normal" you have is whatever your concept of normal is. It may take a while for you to begin to realize and understand the true capabilities that you truly have and how you can use them, but that doesn't change the fact that it is what it is.

The simple way to get this to work is to allow yourself to get into a meditative state and get your body to relax, while you instruct the mind and condition the body to "re-sensitize" itself to all available stimuli available. Sounds easy and simple, but is it really?

Well, it is if you know how to do it. When you have a blueprint that enables you to guide yourself step by step into a new reality, it gives you a power to become more than you could ever have imagined.

The nice thing about this training is that you can go at any pace you want to. Some train hours every day, while others have a less aggressive routine, one that will assist them to get the results they want in the time frame they want, need and desire.

The question is, will you take the next step to allow yourself the chance to get the most out of your mind, body & spirit, and the full potential that is inside of you?

15 Powers You Can Easily Develop

Here is a short list of some of the abilities you can experience:

Crossing of the senses ("seeing" sounds), in which a numinous beauty is revealed or an extrasensory perception is dramatized.
Feeling" people in a house though you cannot see or hear them.
Feeling that someone is watching you, after which you turn to meet his or her gaze.
Feeling a basic compatibility (or incompatibility) with people before you meet them.
Correctly guessing the location of water or other materials by extrasensory processes.
Spontaneous, unexpected perceptions of distant events.
Hearing music or other sounds, for which there is no discoverable physical source, which enlivens particular thoughts or emotions.
Correctly sensing the location of lost objects without the help of sensory cues.
Opening books to the exact passage you are searching for.
Watching someone's face reveal-as if in slow motion-unsuspected feeling, traits, or possibilities for development.
Sensing a numinous presence during meditation, intimate conversation, or other circumstances.
Seeing lights around people or inanimate objects for which there are no apparent sources.
Looking at something familiar and seeing it as if for the first time.
Spontaneously apprehending the presence of someone physically distant or dead, by direct and vivid contact.
These are skills or abilities one can achieve through the right discipline of meditation and advanced chi training (building up the nerve fibers).

The question is not whether you can achieve these results, but rather, do you have the courage and instinct to continue expanding your mind and body?

The Imagination Diet: To Eat Less, Imagine Eating More

The Imagination Diet: To Eat Less, Imagine Eating More

Source: Science Now

Before dipping your hand into that bowl of M&Ms at the holiday party, think about what you're about to do. A lot. A new study finds that people who imagine themselves consuming many pieces of candy eat less of the real thing when given the chance. The finding, say experts, could lead to the development of better weight-loss strategies.

Picturing a delicious food -- like a juicy steak or an ice cream sundae -- generally whets the appetite. But what about visualizing yourself eating the entire sundae, spoonful by spoonful?

There's reason to think that might have the opposite effect, says Carey Morewedge, an experimental psychologist at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Researchers have found that repeated exposure to a particular food -- as in taking bite after bite of it -- decreases the desire to consume more.

This process, which psychologists call habituation, dampens appetite independently of physiological signals like rising blood sugar levels or an expanding stomach. But no one had looked to see whether merely imagining eating has the same effect.

To investigate, Morewedge and colleagues Young Eun Huh and Joachim Vosgerau fed M&Ms and cheese cubes to 51 undergraduate students. In one experiment, the participants first imagined performing 33 repetitive motions: Half of them imagined eating 30 M&Ms and inserting three quarters into the slot of a laundry machine. The other half envisioned eating three M&Ms and inserting 30 quarters. Then everyone was allowed to eat their fill from a bowl of M&Ms.

Those who'd envisioned eating more candy ate about three M&Ms on average (or about 2.2 grams), whereas the others ate about five M&Ms (or about 4.2 grams), the researchers report in the 10 December issue of Science.

The researchers then extended their findings to another food group -- cheese. As in the M&M experiment, people who imagined eating 30 cheese cubes consumed less of the real thing. But volunteers who imagined eating 30 M&Ms ate the same amount of cheese as those who imagined eating three M&Ms. Thus, the habituation effect is specific to the type of food imagined.

On questionnaires, subjects reported that mental imagery doesn't diminish how much they like a particular food. But a final experiment, in which they played a computer game to earn cheese cubes, suggested that mental imagery can reduce the effort people will expend to get food.

The findings should have practical applications, says Frances McSweeney, a psychologist at Washington State University, Pullman. One possible strategy for weight watchers might be to spend a few minutes before each meal imagining eating exactly the foods they're about to consume, she says. This type of mental exercise might also help counter sudden cravings between meal times, adds Suzanne Higgs, a psychologist at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

Ironically, Morewedge says, many diets urge people to suppress thoughts of the foods they crave. That usually doesn't work. Although he and his colleagues are planning follow-up studies to investigate the potential of imagined consumption for helping people control their appetite, Morewedge says he's not planning to experiment on himself over the holidays. "I really enjoy my mother's cooking," he says. "I'm going to savor it while I can."

Secrets of Millionaire Mind

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind

"Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" reveals the missing link between wanting success and achieving it!

By T. Harv Eker
Author of Secrets of the Millionaire Mind

Have you ever wondered why some people seem to get rich easily, while others are destined for a life of financial struggle? Is the difference found in their education, intelligence, skills, timing, work habits, contacts, luck, or their choice of jobs, businesses, or investments?

The shocking answer is: None of the above!

In his groundbreaking "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind", T. Harv Eker states: "Give me five minutes, and I can predict your financial future for the rest of your life!"

Eker does this by identifying your "money and success blueprint." We all have a personal money blueprint engrained in our subconscious minds, and it is this blueprint, more than anything, that will determine our financial lives.

You can know everything about marketing, sales, negotiations, stocks, real estate, and the world of finance. But if your money blueprint is not set for a high level of success, you will never have a lot of money -- and if somehow you do, you will most likely lose it! The good news is that now you can actually reset your money blueprint to create natural and automatic success.

"Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" is two books in one. Part I explains how your money blueprint works. Through Eker's rare combination of street smarts, humor, and heart, you will learn how your childhood influences have shaped your financial destiny. You will also learn how to identify your own money blueprint and "revise" it to not only create success but, more important, to keep and continually grow it.

Free Report: How to Reset Your Money Blueprint for Success -- Download this report and get 2 Free Tickets to an upcoming "Millionaire Mind Intensive" live seminar ($795 value!!)

In Part II you will be introduced to seventeen "Wealth files," which describe exactly how rich people think and act differently than most poor and middle-class people. Each Wealth File includes specific steps for you to practice in the real world in order to dramatically increase your income and accumulate wealth.

If you are not doing as well financially as you would like, you will have to change your money blueprint. Unfortunately your current money blueprint will tend to stay with you for the rest of your life, unless you identify and revise it, and that's exactly what you will do with the help of this extraordinary book. According to T. Harv Eker, its simple. If you think like rich people think and do what rich people do, chances are you'll get rich too!

Using the principles he teaches, T. HARV EKER went from zero to millionaire in only two and a half years.
